AUGUST/SEPTEMBER CLUB ACTIVITIES
Middletown Library "Read & Feed" Program- This summer, the Middletown Rotary Club proudly supported the "Read and Feed" program at the Middletown Library. The children in the summer reading program not only read an impressive number and variety of books, but they also participated in a meaningful project as a reward for their hard work.
As part of the program, the children got the chance to decorate a can or pet food item with their name, which will now be donated to the Potter Animal League. We're thrilled to share that over 600 cans of pet food were beautifully decorated by our local young readers and are on their way to support the animals at Potter!
A huge thank you to everyone involved—our young readers, their families, the Middletown Library, and the Potter Animal League—for making this initiative a wonderful success. Together, we're fostering a love of reading and a spirit of giving back to our community!
29th Annual Steakout at Kempanaar's - On Wednesday, August 14th, we celebrated our 29th Annual Steakout with an unforgettable evening filled with lawn games, delicious food, and incredible community spirit!
A heartfelt thank you to the more than 200 wonderful guests who joined us at Kempenaar's Clambake Club for this special event, where we were truly "partying for a purpose."
We’d also like to extend a big thank you to our generous local businesses and friends who contributed to the raffle. Your support is the backbone of our efforts and helps us make a lasting impact.
Because of you, the funds raised will fuel our community projects this year, empowering us to continue making a positive difference.

Supporting the MLK Community Center's Fight Against Hunger -Our Co-president, Angel Gonzalez, proudly presented a $500 check to Alyson F. Novick, Director of Development of the Martin Luther King Center in support the Center’s summer Freedom from Hunger Campaign.

World Polio Day - October 24th:
Rotary’s Continued Fight Against Polio
Rotary International has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating polio by pledging US $500,000 to support a Polio Outbreak Response Fund, directed toward the recent polio case in Gaza. This critical contribution is part of Rotary’s ongoing collaboration with the World Health Organization to eliminate polio globally.
Here at the Middletown Rotary Club, we are proud to announce that we have recently raised and donated $2,500 to this vital cause. We sincerely thank our members and supporters for their generosity. Together, we are making strides toward a polio-free world.
Thirty-nine years ago, Rotary launched the PolioPlus initiative, marking the beginning of our mission to eradicate polio. Since then, Rotary members have been on the front lines, volunteering their time, resources, and influence to ensure that children worldwide receive the polio vaccine. We’ve worked alongside governments and health organizations, pushing for the sustained funding necessary to fight this preventable disease.
Thanks to these efforts, nearly 3 billion children have been protected from polio. Yet, our work continues. The recent polio case in Gaza—the first in 25 years—reminds us that the fight isn’t over.
On this World Polio Day, let’s honor our progress and renew our commitment to ensuring that no child suffers from polio again.
